Welcome to Stomping Grounds, the online creative portfolio of Brian Lau. I am based in New York City. Web design is my first and foremost trade. However, I also enjoy working with photography, 3D animation, motion graphics and illustration. My blog has some more creative fun stuff. Photography has been one of the things I've enjoyed doing for quite a few years. It started off with a little compact film camera in college. Eventually I bought some digital compact cameras to play with. Eventually I bought a Canon 40D. Then I got really addicted. Now I go around carrying a backpack full of camera equipment. It just keeps getting heavier and heavier as I add more lenses and flashes. I like shooting a variety of subject matter - from sports and dance to portraits and food. My photographs represent pieces of my life. How can I not take shots of travel and food if I didn't like it? Stylistically, I find both journalistic and staged equally interesting. Hence my eclectic collection. |
